Discomfort and problems with the existing lighting and ventilation
1. The type and location of lighting
- The location of the downlight is too directed to the user’s eyes, which caused the discomfort of going to sleep. - Since it’s student accommodation, the luminosity for the room is too low. Adding on, the room uses warm light which could make the user less energetic by times.
2. The location of AC.
- The location of the AC is on top of the user table which sometimes when the AC facing some malfunction such as leakage, it has high possibility to ruin the user’s works.
3. The location of switches
- The location of the switches is too far from the bed which isn’t convenient for the users to control the light when the users are about to go to sleep. The changes and justification for a new proposed plan
1. The type and location of lighting
- The light for the study area is proposed with a 120cm LED long light to achieve the right luminosity for student to be able to focus on studying or doing labor work especially for architecture student.
- The downlight is moved to center of the bed to make sure it is not directed to the user’s eye for more comfort to sleep. Especially, for the people that are afraid to sleep in the dark.
- The amount of warm light has been added, to have variety of luminosity in the room to fits the user’s needs
2. The location of AC
- The location of the AC is proposed to be located on top of the pathway and also facing the bed. Whenever the AC is having malfunction such as leakage, it’s easy to clean and fix as there is no obstacle. The AC facing the bed for the user to get instant chill and with the modern remote control they’re able to change the direction of the blows on their own desire.
3. The location of the switches.
- The switches are added for the long light and it is located near to the study table and also the bed which will make the users easier to turn it on/off
