Artist In Residence ( A.I.R )
In this final project, we were assigned to re-design the interior of Jao Tim Cafe located in Kuala Lumpur,
done my Project 02 which is 'Forgotten Culture' with Abacus for the objects that I've chosen for the project,
I am using the concept of Abacus finger movement to apply in the design for Jao Tim.

It's a great experience going through this final project, there's a lot of ups and downs. In this project I was fated to have an abacus as my object and to use abacus as the concept of my design. At first, I was lost on how to use abacus as a concept since the movement of the beads of the abacus is just up and down which is boring and the shape of abacus is just rectangle and vertical steel road and round beads, but, thinking outside of the box I have the thought of the users of the abacus which is fingers. Finger movements of using abacus has a lot of patterns and so I applied it on my project 02 and took the characteristic of my project 02 into my final project.
Talking about ups and downs, starts with the downs, I'm a person that prefer more on manual but due to lack of time, I have to learn photoshop and sketch up which caused my boards quality not that good because I learnt photoshop in one night. Second, a week before the final submission, I've got into accident and my right hand was handicap, I had to paused my work for 4 days and left me with 3 days to rush everything in slow progress.
Finally, about the ups during the journey of this project is, I would like to say thank you to my
friends who've been supporting me and teaching me during my downs and actually did something about it and it really helped me a lot. Not to forget about the lecturers, I'm really happy to have the lecturers that have guide me through the project and improving my designing skills.
This project also got reviewed by external guest, which is professionals, the comments I received are mostly because of the material chosen and also color scheme which I should've consider more about my target users, rather than focusing on my concept from project 02.
In conclusion, this project is hell of a roller coaster.
